So, deep thinking on a deadline.
That was the kind of workflow I needed when I decided to build a new company during a pandemic.
Being a media company (think Vox mixed with The School of Life) meant publishing pieces with style and substance: articles, essays, scripts, stories, marketing copy.
Another priority was moving fast and having a tool that makes things easier with time.
With those needs, networked note-taking ticked far more boxes than folder-based notes (I’d been using Evernote for 12 years, and it’d become sluggish).
Enter Roam.
After getting my head around networked note-taking, I experimented with various setups. The ones that were process-light but powerful made the cut.

Being able to move faster, the first Jamoe brand started working with 1 in 5 U.K. schools within five months. We’ve since spun up two more brands.
Having done all this as a Roam Scholar, I wanted to give back. Roam Untangled was born, and it has two key qualities.
