Lesson 8: General to precise: a strategic way to make sense of new topics
Wasting a fortune
We wouldn't buy a car without knowing how to drive, but we often spend fortunes on our education without knowing how to learn. With the Honest Learning System, you’ll have the tools you need to avoid feeling like you’re falling behind and not making the most of your time.
Missing opportunities
Opportunities are everywhere, but we often miss them because we don't understand them fast enough to take advantage of them. However, the faster we learn, the better we can adapt to new situations and make the most of our studies and career.
Create your learning system
A learning system is a set of techniques and principles that allow you to learn faster. We’ve taken an 80:20 approach by only including the ones that remain practical throughout your studies and career.
Memory, Focus, and Understanding
We’re more limited by our techniques than our talent. By mastering these fundamentals, your default approach to learning will overlap with the best approach.
Honest Productivity Principles
Knowing when to use the techniques is just as important and knowing how to use them. With our principles, you’ll be able to spend your time in more rewarding ways and avoid productivity sugar highs.
